I am tired of hearing the same old adage every year on January 1st: “New Year, New You” — as if something is fundamentally wrong with the who I am now. We insist on putting all our energy on this arbitrary switch that somehow everything in our life is magically going to change.
There also is an implication in both that saying and the current energy present that something is not enough with who we are now.
That, in some way, we are broken.
I want to call bullshit on all of that nonsense. Enough already.
We are missing the point of welcoming in a new year, and a new season. It’s not about redefining yourself and version 2.0 (or at this point, version 50.0), it’s about recalibrating and realigning back to who you truly are.
The authentic you, the true you, the you underneath all the layers and masks, and shoulding and shaming.
The New Year (which, by the way, doesn’t even occur until January 23rd when the Sun moves into Gate 41) is a place to be intentional about what we want to grow, expand, and ultimately, harvest, in the upcoming year.
And, the only way we can be intentional, is to first give ourselves space and time for reflection, contemplation, restoration, and recalibration. We are actually still in Q4 of the previous energetic year.
This fourth quarter is known as the Quarter of Recalibration.
It’s a slower, more gentle (and even denser) period. It’s not “go time” or the time to haul ass and go balls-to-the-wall trying to force, push, or will things. It’s actually a time for deep reflection, to ask ourselves: “What’s worked well this past year? What hasn’t? And, what needs to be healed?”
It’s a period of time to purge the old and make space for the new. In fact, cleaning out closets, emails, and anything else that feels dense, like it doesn’t serve us, or it just plain doesn’t fit … it’s time for it to go.
Think about it as if you were planting a garden. In order to get ready to plant the seeds for the garden you want to grow this year, you need to first till the soil, prepare the earth, get your tools ready, and identify what you actually want to be planting in order to get the right seeds.
I mean, the way you prep to plant a rose garden is very different than the way you prep to grow fruits and vegetables. You need to first know what it is you want to plant. Similar to the Cheshire Cat in his response to Alice when he asked her where she wanted to go, and she replied, “I don’t know.” He then said, “then any plath will take you there.”
Our internal GPS and due norht are only as good as the information and context we provide it. Again, your garden will only flourish if you first know what it is you want to plant, then you prep the ground and your tools to feed and water that specific garden.
This is our time to think about the garden we want to plant. It’s a clearing out and planning phase. Unlike what we’ve been told, January is not a big “doing” month. It’s a preparation month, where we are given space to gather the tools, resources, and clarity we need in order to know what we want to plant in the first place. It’s the only way to reap the harvest.
Are you trying to plant a rose bush, an oak tree, or tasty vegetables?
Because this period, right now, is an alignment phase.
This phase is our way back home to ourselves to explore what we really want to call in and manifest. A time for us to nurture and nourish our mind, body and spirit, to refuel, recharge, and rest so that our cup is full and overflowing again, and to take time to outline what we really desire.
Then, when the first quarter of the year activates on February 3rd, you will be ready to plant the seeds to grow the garden you really want. This new quarter is referred to as the Quarter of Possibility, and is our space to dream, imagine, and play with all the possibilities and infinite potential available to us. It is the season to plant and lay the sustainable groundwork for what we want to harvest for the remainder of the year.
Right now, as we get ready to transition into the actual New Year, and start the first quarter, give yourself time and space to consider what needs to be rewritten in your current narrative in order for you to become truly aligned AF to your truth and Authentic Self.
Here are some prompts you might consider:
- What needs to be healed in the story of your own self-worth?
- How would you redefine what abundance means to you? What does it look like and feel like for you?
- How would you define success at this stage of your life?
- What do you valued most? And, how do you define value?
Right now, we need to be focused on giving ourselves permission for greater alignment, not pushing in another version of the hustle and grind. We will be experiencing some big energy from the Will (or Ego) Center in the first quarter of this year, as various planets transit. Therefore, it is essential that we heal the karma of our own self-worth, tap into our innate sense of value, and surrender to the Universal flow.
For it’s in our ability to trust and have faith that we will be guided forward.
The more we push, hustle, grind, resist, or will ourselves to do anything, the more we will experience new levels of burnout. And, let’s be honest, far too many people are already starting the New Year from that space.
The energy of this year is fast-moving and immediate, meaning we will manifest quickly and we are in an instantaneous feedback loop with the Universe. So, we will create either from an energy of alignment or from an energy of resistance. It’s up to us to determine from which energy we want to be creating. The instantaneous feedback loop can help us course-correct if what we manifest is coming from a place of fear or resistance.
This is a powerful opportunity for us to tap into a deeper alignment for ourselves, and better understand our innate wiring and how we make decisions that are correct and right for us. It’s only in understanding that alignment that we can step into a more authentic version of ourselves.
2024 is set up and designed to offer us just that.
We have before us an opportunity to make quantum leaps this year in our own leadership and consciousness. We simply need to dial into our unique energetic blueprint and notice the cues and signals. We have a built-in GPS system that steers us in the right direction, if we allow it to. Again, we must first prime that inner guidance with the outcome of where we want to go.
Now, imagine if we use the incoming energy for 2024 to catalyze something better. Imagine if we use this energy to recognize and own the knowing that we are enough … just because. Imagine if we allow this energy to help us heal our own self-worth and to step fully into our value and gifts.
All it takes is for you to trust and live from a place of deep faith and knowing that you are fully supported. It’s trusting that you will receive all that you need in Divine Timing to bring your new narrative to form. It’s about practicing and embodying full surrender.
Ask yourself, “How can I pivot and reinvent myself, ultimately rewriting my narrative, without compromising my own integrity, value, and my values?
Start with knowing what your non-negotiables are this year, and what you are and are not available for (establish the boundaries you need), in order to position yourself to be more resilient and adaptable.
We all are co-creating with the Quantum Field. We are manifesting 24/7.
The difference for most comes in whether you choose to co-create intentionally or not. I talk a lot with my clients about leading their Living Legacy. You either do so deliberately, or it will exist by mere happenstance. We’re either creating from a place of alignment or resistance, all the time.
When we learn to minimize and reduce our reactivity to the world, and thus become more deliberate in our choices, we co-create powerfully and intentionally. We then recognize the energy of what we want to call in and raise our own vibration to match it.
In being the embodiment of the frequency that matches the vibration of what you want to call in, you then create the only “new” required. The “new” then becomes your own belief in what’s possible, and your clarity about how you need to be in order to create the alignment for what you want to call in. It’s a simple equation, really, and it’s a matter of calibrating your emotions and heart to that which you desire most.
It is our opportunity to break free from the patterns and programming that has held us back, individually and collectively, face the fears that keep us playing small, and heal our own sense of self-worth and value.
For we all have a pathway available to establish a new set of metrics on what success, abundance, and prosperity can be.
So, this year and the energy coming through in not about a ‘New Year, New You’ (again, you are not broken) … but, rather a ‘True You, Aligned You.’
